Facilities at Veligandu are in keeping with the island's natural Maldivian style. The main sand floor restaurant, Dhonveli, has a choice of buffet style dishes and live cooking stations, with a weekly Maldivian night and a once-a-week sparkling wine breakfast.
For more intimate à la carte dining, the Madivaru restaurant serves up a dinner menu of grilled seafood and beef. For added romance, opt for a table on the beach under the stars. There's a thatched sand-floored bar area with plenty of tables, sofas and a glossy long bar at the Athiri bar.
Spacious villas are neat and modern inside, with high thatched roofs and dark wood floors. There's a choice of Beach Villas with a sundeck or Water Villas with steps down into the lagoon, both with or without Jacuzzi.
You can book a private table on the sandbank for the ultimate in intimate dining or take a diving trip to the Hammerhead shark point. You can also enjoy a secluded walk along the broad sandbank at sunset or visit the tiny uninhabited island of Madivaru on a boat excursion.
Restaurants & Bars
Dhonveli is the resort's main restaurant, with a thatched roof, sand floor and three separate dining areas. There's also seating outside on the deck. Buffet style meals are offered for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with hot dishes and live cooking stations where food is prepared to order.
Sundays welcome a Maldivian night with themed menu and waiters in traditional dress, while Sunday breakfast is a treat with complimentary sparkling wine.
Madivaru is the a la carte restaurant with a menu of fresh grilled seafood and prime beef. Book a table on the beach for a romantic dinner under the stars. The expansive Thundi Bar is a popular spot, with a long bar if you're feeling sociable or cosy sofas for more intimate drinks.
